She Made Yarn.

I'm a sucker for craft supplies of any kind, but yarn is a particular weakness for me. I have storage totes crammed full of more than I will likely ever use; but that never stops me from marveling over pretty colors, running my fingers over silky soft skeins, and of course, being unable to avoid temptation and purchasing even more.

There used to be a nice little yarn shop in my town that sold wonderful, beautiful, handspun creations, but alas, they have since closed their doors. The local craft store carries a basic selection of yarns, but when I have a project that calls for something more special than Red Heart, these days I turn to Etsy.

I love the selections at I Made Yarn, the Etsy shop of Joyuna. There are four sections in her shop; I Made Yarn, I Dyed Yarn, I Made Stuff, and I Made Patterns.

In the I Made Yarn section, you will find gorgeous yarns spun by Joyuna herself. My favorite of her handspun yarns is called Party Time. It is 100% Corridale wool in bright hues of every color in the rainbow; it is 2-ply so it looks like it would crochet with a nice confetti effect and was spun on a drop spindle. It looks all soft and squishy! I'd have loved a hat made from this yarn for our record-breaking winter (16 feet of snow!) that appears to FINALLY be over! ...Hmmm, wouldn't hurt to be prepared for next winter...

Over in the I Dyed Yarn department, you will be impressed by her knack for fabulous color combinations. My eye was immediately drawn to this cashmere sock yarn in a verigation she calls Jungle Flower. I love the shades of bright-yet-pale green and orange! The cashmere content of this yarn is twice that of most cashmere sock yarns, which means it is probably the most ooshy-soft thing your feet will ever nuzzle into. My toes are envious!

In the I Made Stuff category there are a variety of hand knit items; scarves, shawls, and my favorite, these delightful limes! (I adore quirky crafts!!) They are lightly felted, fuzzy, and slightly verigated. They are stuffed with recycled scraps of yarn and other fibers. (And you know how much I love recycling!)

If you are a knitter, you can pick up her patterns for three different sachets as well, filed under I Made Patterns. (If you're not a knitter (*raises hand*), there is no need to worry about your inability to create your own; the finished products are also for sale in the I Made Stuff section!)

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about I Made Yarn and Joyuna. Check out her Etsy shop by clicking the banner above or the items below from her shop. She also has a wonderful blog, Joyarna Knitblog. Bookmark 'em both; they're good shtuff!
